Baking Tips

We’re following up our previous dough making post with cookie baking tips. There are so many things that we do to ensure we offer you the best cookies but sometimes we know you like the experience of baking at home.

Here are a few quick tips that will set you apart from your neighbors:

  1. Line your pans with parchment paper. The bottom of your cookies will bake up much better, more golden, and smoother. The paper acts like a layer of insulation between the direct heat of the pan and the cookies.
  2. Use an ice cream scooper to measure out dough. This is the perfect way to make sure your cookies are the same size and shape. A tablespoon also works, depending on the size cookie you want and amount of dough you have.
  3. Space cookies evenly on baking sheet. Cookies that are baked too closely to each other will spread into one another. The consistency of your dough will determine how far apart you need to space your cookies. A good rule of thumb is to start two inches apart.
  4. Rotate cookies during baking. Some of our ovens have hot spots. To make sure your cookies bake evenly consider rotating the pans half-way through baking.
  5. Let cookies sit before removing them from the baking sheet. The cookies are still baking, and they will fall apart if you move them immediately. Allow them to cook for a few minutes before moving them to a cooling rack or plate.
Try these tips when baking your own cookies at home or leave the baking to us!
